Well it may be reasonable or not, but either way its more than I can spend on my car at the moment. Besides, he doesnt want to ship, you would have to arrange that yourself on top.
i can arrange it it you want.
i got contact at japan..
you just need to pay the engine to the seller
and born all the shipment
but to ship out , you have to try this method
buy it off. ship to local address which you know.. then ask them to ship it out
my experience dealing with jdm engines and parts (buying from throughout japan, kuala lumpur, etc) taught me to just pay the extra money and buy it from within the US. the middleman will be making a profit, but also taking the biggest risk. then again, it's not everyday you have a chance to buy an N1.
Why buying a JDM engine at KL is hassle ?
because a lot of engine you get is drop down instead of clip
clip engine is more expensive and you can start it to test
and if dealer know you shipping it to US the price shot up
S14 black top clip for me cost about USD 1800- 2000
but if they know you ship to US .. USD 2300 to 2500.
THAT not include shipping cost

i've went through dealers in KL who never sent engines. who sent wrong engines. who sent engines with prices that included customs and shipping arrangments, yet i ended up having to pay $1400+ (on top of the money for the engines and shipping already) for customs and "extra" shipping.
as i waited for US authorities who cover international claims to solve these matters, there was little i could do to cover my @$$ because someone promised but couldn't deliever (quick to take your money [promptly answering emails, etc], but once they got it, tell tell you to go F%*k yourself (by the way they treat you).
front clips (top cuts) are awesome (if you're gonna do a RHD conversion or if the body parts are included and USEABLE), but a good motor set is even better (parts needed for the swap are already out and money saved on shipping is huge). last time i checked i could get a S14 blacktop (engine, trans, ecu, uncut wire harness, maf, ignitor, intercooler, etc etc) shipped to my doorstep with lift for $2200. that's to my doorstep (in hawaii) with lift from cali. shipping maximum of 6 days. i usually got them in 4-5. no customs, no bullsh*t. no waiting months for an engine.
idk, i really don't mean to label anyone, i know, i've been "blackballed" before. but i just wanna inform a few US buyers who think every person in the far east is waiting with slanted eyes (don't hate, i myself am part japanese and chinese) and a smile desperiatly wanting to "hook us up" with jdm goodies.
Shipping a clip from Malaysia to US is about USD 400-500
a CLIP ...
but remember you need to deal with US clearance..
that the important factor..
a lot people forget about this issue
Shipping a large scale is only worth it
i ship to my customer via crate and he resell it to US market still can make a decent profit
japanese are some of the most trust worthy people in the world. same goes with most asian people
i never said japanese or asians for that matter are not trust worthy or not honorable. living in hawaii we get tourist from anywhere in asia. i will be the first to say that they are the most repectful people i have ever met. my gf just got back from japan (great car pictures btw) and said they only ran into 2-3 disrespectful people (2-3 people in a week's vacation). damn, you vacation in hawaii and you'll see 2-3 before you leave the airport i'm sure.

anyways, back to the point. yes, i've dealt with fxxxxoptions. <<they were the one who sent the wrong engine into customs that was suppose to be prepaid. i am not doubtomg you or calling you a scammer in anyway. i'm sure you're lagit and honest. but i was just giving my opinion that if a buyer from the US just wanted to buy a single engine for themself, they should just go through a US based company.
*BUT like i also said, "it's not everyday you have the chance to buy a N1" so it may be worth the money and risk.

from your grammer, i'm not sure if you're mocking (teasing) me, or agreeing with me. it seems pretty obvious that you're "heated" because of the comment i made. i'm not trying blackball you (or anyone for that matter), i've never done business with you so i'm in no position to speak. but, from my experience, i gave my honest opinion; which is, unless you have a respectable source (who you know personally is honest and reliable) it would be in the buyer's best interest and safety to buy from a company based in the united states.
so stop trying to "speak to" my comments. i gave my honest opinion (from some experience). and stop trying to "prove me wrong." lol, i never said YOU were dishonest, and i never said you couldn't sell this engine. sorry if you think i'm cutting into your profits, but that's not why i posted; just for a heads-up for potential buyers.
good luck with the sell and hope there's no "bad blood."
