de piston vs. ve piston

I got bored and my camera sucks.


left de piston, right ve piston


left ve piston right de piston with de rod

Anyone have any better pics?

The DE piston you are showing is the 91-99 piston. The SR20DE piston from the roller rocker motor looks just like the VE piston.

Are the ring lands the same size on the ve piston and roller rocker piston?

anyone have a clue if i can still run +5 IN, -5 EX with SR16 cams on the roller pistons? think it will smack a valve?

I know they dont have valve reliefs. I was talking about the piston as far as rings and piston build.

You will not smack the piston with that combo

was more for the others in this thread. don't want someone buying roller pistons and expecting reliefs.

Actually you can smack if you mishift or overreved the engine because I smacked all 16 on my de/ve motor with flat top pistons whit that combo. I mishift with a 8,500 rev cut.

Yes the only diference is the dish=0 flat top the valves will hit exactly were the SR20VE pistons has the valve relives they could hit any piston that doesn't have valve relives.
