My VE looks VERY weathered from outside, but the inside looks all sparkly and stuff thank goodness....
What can I use to clean the alloy block and head and the manifold etc. It's not just simple dirt and grime, but more like soap scum type effect.
What can I use to give the alloy that new look finish??
Wire Wheels in di-grinder and for smaller stuff tight places course wire wheel for dremal

I tried Simple Green and a rag when the motor was out of the car. It is not the most effective way to do the job. Very diffacult, and time consuming...and the end result is mediocre at best. I suggest following chris200t's advice.
warm oxy clean is what i use and a soft brush, all the other cleaners i have used seem to always leave a oil film and smell oxy rocks!
