Yes, Andreas Miko in Miami is the person to talk to down
here in Florida. His number is 305-282-3643. He's selling them for about $2500. He can also get the SR16VE (& N1 version) from time to time.
And SR20Development gets them too... Try Chris at Sr20dev. at 619-69TURBO... Don't know SR20dev. prices though...

Not sure why so cheap, there is also one guy in FL thats selling a VE for $1000 also, I tried to email him with some questions and asked for some pictures, and all I got back was an email asking if I'm still interested.
I spoke with Chris at SR20Development and he said $2000 + $250 shipping but he won't have any more for at least 2 weeks.
I also spoke with the guy from the SE-R.net classifieds and he said the one for $1000 is sold already. He also mentioned that it was stripped to just the motor without harness, ECU, manifolds, etc. He said he might get some more in the future.
I bought mine from Andreas Miko also because of the good things I've heard about him from others and his eagerness to help on the phone.
Mine should be here in a week or so, and like Jim I'll be detailing the installation on my website followed by some 1320 runs and dyno pulls.

I forget who, but someone on the mailing list mentionned that in about 6 months, there should be a whole bunch of them comming to North America and its very well possible they will sell for as low as 1000$-1500$ USD.
I beleive it was Rob Cadle who mentionned this, but I could be mistaken.
It think the first batch of used ones are gonna be comming in at one time, and because of that everyone is preparing.
Might be the reason why Andreas, Chris and Hotshot have all been talking about, and working on VE's lately.
If anyone has better info, please feel free to confirm or deny what I just said.
