ve + 2k=13's

i've been working 60 hr weeks for almost 3 months now..its time for the ve to get its present, any ideas?t28 50 shot the price is 2k in savings..suspension and brakes already done(thanx panx2k)ecu done and i want to be able to run 13's and still drive her home everyday.i've seen some guys run boost on ve's @ 7psi and their holding up.this is after all a high comp. motor that will probably respond the same to boost as my old gsr did..13.4's all day with the a.c. and p.s. still in the car.i wonder if a gen 6,sr16(good luck finding them)cams and jwt springs/retainers can help my goal of mid 13's.i figure that i can gather up a small turbo, evo 8 fmic, piping, lines and misc. items for around 1.5 and still have 500 for tuning.i just dont wanna get rid of the ve for a det swap..but maybe its be best route as of now..o yeah nitrous makes me giggle also

t-bags u want my adive. you got gen 5 knock offs right. well have custom seconderies made up. 3 inch collector and 3 inchs all the way back. i really think thats why the gen 6 performs so well, aside from the primeries it has a 3 inch collector and then back. so try that. n1 intake manifold with n1 thermoblock spacer kit. what ecu are u running ? if your not running a ve specific ecu try a jwt one or a calum tuned ecu. ive heard alot of good things about his ecus. ive personally ridden in a ser with a ve wich was running a calum ecu and it ran great. light weight flywheel if you dont already have one, thats a must. pulleys just not the crank pulley. light weight wheels. and if you can drive im sure you can hit 13s. hold off till the jwt cams im sure there gonna out do any other ve cam. good luck man.

^^^So what's the difference between having a BB and having a turbo VE in your car? They are both going to eat up trannies.

For 2 g's you should be able to buy the JWT cams when they come out and have enough left over for a simple nitrous system.

Get VE motor
Gen 6 or Fujitsubo header
3 inch exhaust
JWT Pop Filter JWT ECU.
MSD RPM activated switch

Should run 14.0-14.3 at 97-99 MPH

Then put a NOS on, 50 shot wetinfront of the TB.

Everything nice and safe ad the car will run 13.3-13.5 at 104-106 MPH.

Not to hijack Tbag's thread, but Andreas' post makes me wonder about the power between the Fuji and the 6. Apparently there really isn't much of a difference due to the collector when paired w/ a 3" all of the way back.

Tbag's: is the drag strip your main use for your car? If so, then my money would probably be on the header, exhaust, and then a small shot of nitrous. You can always add pulleys, cams (when they are available).

nitrous makes me laugh. .anyway its a daily driver for now until i find another b13 4dr or a g20..i've driven in ltrains car with the fuji and jwt ecu and his car pops vvl so dam hard..im part owner of a shop so making a 3inch collector is not a problem..my q? is should i also install a flex section their?.i really would like to find a daily driver so i can strip the a.c. and the p.s. from her.i rather have the gen 6 imo because its a newer model but h.s. has them on a 3 week stand off..gotta call mossy again when i get home.
