SR16VE Tuning

Hey.
I've got a Pulsar VZ-R SR16VE and I want to get more power from it. Its already got a manifold, exhaust and induction kit. I was thinking of gettin a new ecu for it but I was suggested to get N1 cams and possibly put in a de bottom end. I've been reading about the de bottom end and it kind of sounds like its not worth doing. Can anyone suggest what I should do first? I don't have a huge budget but I don't want to do something cheap either, I'd rather wait a bit longer and do it right.

Boost wouldn't work. 2 reasons. I couldn't afford it and also insurance is hell here. They freak out about induction kits.

For the 2.0 all I need is a crank and conrods isn't it?

Is it worth gettin a n1 inlet manifold, plenum and throttle body? Could the 8 injectors be rigged up with that setup?
