sr16vvl n1 or sr20ve in a s13 240?

alright now i ownboth a 240 and a sentra se(R)

but i was wondering if the ve's would fit in a rwd car? i know the trans would be the ahrdest thing finding out. motor mounts can be fabricated.

just a thought. anyone got any input?

Anything can be done if you are willing to spend the money! Or so the saying goes. Has anyone done a FWD swap into a 240, not that I know of. You might want to get on the 240 mailing list and ask around. Ultimately, it matters what you want to do with your own money, but if you asked me, I wouldn't put an SR16 in a 240 because it is heavier than a B-series and I think you would need the extra torque of the 2.0. Even the 2.0 would be underpowered IMHO. If "I" had a RWD car, I would be going the turbo route.

well, a few things to consider:

first, i would get the SR20VE, it has more torque, and you will need it to push your taller gears.

the intake manifold points the wrong way, so some creative intake routing and some "modification" to the firewall may be necesary. either that, or have a custom sheetmetal one fabbed up for about $1000+ bucks, or see if rob williams will make one for the VE and have him reverse the plenum.

custom exhaust header will have to be created.

not sure if the clutch fan assembly will fit, so you may have to rig up an electric one.

after all is said and done, you may have one expensive motor swap. unless you are really fired up about maximum NA power, you may just want to stick with the S13 DET swap.

i am always aware that with enough $$$ anything is possible.

thanks for the informative input hotshtsr20.

I am still going for the det swap in the 240 but i might consider the one of the 2 engines for my auto 99 se(R) the n1 1.6 or the sr20ve

I misread the engine code on the previous post. As far as I know the *VET* is only available in the X-Trail.
