Who thinks that they will be the first to have a running VE?

Aside from Andreas and Bubba,

Anyone here close to getting one running? I will be excited to see some dyno numbers!

I'm certainly not in a race, but Jim (Shoes59) and I have both ordered VE's from Andreas and we should each have them installed in the next couple of weeks.

We're not breaking any new ground either since several people have already installed a VE - there just seems to be a lack of enough people who have done it to give us information. I would guess that gozonnx was the first in the US but he paid $5000 for his VE and personally I'm not that rich. And then of course there's Andreas Miko and SR20Development. I don't know who else...

No hurry on my part cause it's not a daily driver. I plan to do it right the first time but hope to have it completed by the end of April. I'm also not very interested in dyno results. Never had a car on a dyno cause I just don't really care what numbers I'm putting down. Seat of the pants and lap times are all I really care about.

No sh*t, I have been dreaming about VEs since I have been on the forum and seeing all these newbies buying one within a week is sickening. I really need to stop paying my student loans.

And they are *very* bleeding edge at the moment.

Miko claims everyone he knows down in FL wants to
turbo a VE now, and he's actually got a SR20VET motor
to put in one of his cars now.

It seems that suddenly everyone that used to be turbo is now VE down here. I have examined that VET motor up close, it is very interesting. Not quite like any SR I have ever looked at, its like a cross between a GTI-R and a 20v motor.

SO what about 6 speeds in the VEs now???? Seems its doable. I have a 96 waiting on my house sale to finish with a Miko VE and I wanted to look into shoving a SpecV 6 speed into as well.

No, there are others out there (myself included).

And yes, a LOT has changed in this section over the past 3.5 years and I have a feeling some more will change in the near future too.

I think you are right Justin. I can't believe I'm coming up on 2 years since I bought my engine (November '03). Time flies!

I am right there with ya pal. I will keep this motor NA. Alot of people have no idea what these motors feel like with some mods.I can't wait to get some real cams. I really like the SR16 cams but I would like a little more.

I came from a full bolt on DE with cams and I must say that there is no comparison to the VE.

The only forced induction I will have is alot if nitrous.
