exhaust opnion

after my swap is done, i am going to buy a gen 6, vsr 3 inch stainless exhaust, and im curious to what kinda exhaust muffler i should get. I am not a fan of a big flashy rice can, or the noise that they produce. I was thinking like a flowmaster or somthing like that. serban suggested apex n1 too, the flowmaster/turbo muffler is 150. apex is 250. Also a cat, should i get a high flow? any recomendations. Basicly im *** lookin for the best sound that i can get. Hopefully quiet, but 3 inch prolly wont help that

I have a stainless VRS 3" system with 22" resonator and Thermal R&D muffler with no tip but way shiny bling. I just haven't had time to BBQ Black it yet Magnaflow makes some nice looking mufflers with different styles. I like the universal no tip style with a short length of exh pipe welded on as the tip.

Ummm well I was told people knew when I was coming down the front straight at the convention without even looking for my car Yes, its very loud when on the big cams at high rpm. I don't think its possible to have a quiet n/a car with a 3" exh and straight through mufflers. Around town on the little cams its not very loud at all though.

try this link http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....0-880232C8794C

if u wanna get a quiet ex. then try something with a silencer.. 3in with any muffler will be louder than stock..and on the big cams its even louder..i have the vrs also in 2.5 with no cat and a obx rear section..175 for the pipes and 63 for the muffler..love the sound and when i need her to be quiet i just install the silencer..looks ricey and all but its very quiet.lets face it their is no modded car, just get some type of resonator(i hear u lose hp with those) or a silencer and ur done...

because you asked ill tel you an apexi muffler unless you have a pair of resonators and a cat will be loud. and ive got a magnaflow with a cat on my motor now and i think it sounds really nice compared to alot of the fartcan exhausts that every one in miami seems to have on thier cars now adays. i think its the bigger the can you have on the back the quieter it is. i have a friend who bought a apexi world sport from a civic and you cant even hear his car pulling up and you dont hear antyhing till his turbo spools.

Is an SE-R/VE a VE-R?

I've started with the Fujitsubo even *** the outlet is about 2 3/8" - it's made specifically for the VE as is the Gen6, BUT Andreas insisted he gets better results from the Fuji. He also says 3" all the way back from that. Long resonators help, but the dyno shows that they eat horsepower. Right now, I'm thinking I'll try no resonator, VRS for the cat and pipe, but go to Apexi for an N1 with their fancy ($$) silencer; I can still pull the silencer at the autox but street performance is FAR better than with the Apexi fixed silencer. BUT I was looking at the WS and the very cool PS Revolution (has an active silencer built in) yesterday online, but can't find anyplace to either get power loss data or, for that matter, anyone that actually sells them. Any sources?

2.5" vrs exhaust with magnaflow cat, resonator and muffler.

close to what a 3 inch vvl would sound like on the small cams. for big cams, amplify volume at 4500 rpm by 1000. love vvl kickin in other videos.

man, when i see videos of vvl kickin it, i smile. all i need is money for an engine transplant and i will be in vvl crowd. i have done everything that i can do in my opinion to put the sr20ve in a good position with good hp. t bags, check out my cardomain and critique what i have done to my car and what else i can do now before i engine swap. i would do clutch or flywheel at engine swap time also. so thats taken care of.
