Quick question what are the valve diameters? Intake and exhaust
opps i see you say they are 27 -28mm
same exhaust and intake?
DE, stainless are 35mm intake and 30mm exhaust, the VE exhaust are 27-28mm and can machine the exhaust valve seats for the 30mm valves, along with a little porting to go.
You can not use these valves with VE springs BTW because the installed height changes....

so u mean to say that gti=R springs are direct swaps to the VE valve train and an upgrade??

AFAIK (well, OK, according to the FSM...), all engine generations, all types (sodium-filled or not) of SR20DE valves were always... 30.0-30.2 mm exhaust and 34.0-34.2 mm intakes.
There has never been a 35mm stock intake valve ... (which by the way gives a 6% larger area).
That said, I find it very strange that the VE which definitely flows much better than the DE in high rpm and puts out 31% real crank HP more , has actually 25% smaller area on the exhaust valves...
This make no sense, with all this machining and cutting and stuff, its going to cost alot. Just have springs made, its not that hard. Send one spring with retainer as a sample and its done
As far4 as valves are concern again same thing take out one exhaust valve and one intake valve send it out and have them make it to what ever specifications you want.
If you want to put in bigger valve jsut get DE seats and your done.
It will be cheaper

the VE head has a shorter spring installed height, somewhere around 36.5mm or so. i have not found an actual facorty spec though. the DE is 40mm. the valve lock height on the DE valve is heigher so you can raise the spring installed height. there is a lot of machine work involved to make it all fit in the VE head but it is possible. you should not need DE EX valve seats. i was able to cut the seats for the 30mm valves just fine.
VE valves are shorter than DE valves.
Why don't you guys go and buy yourself a set of H22 Skunk2 springs. Drop them in and have a nice live ever after. No machining no nothing and the best part is it cost $240 on ebay!!!
If you use this please be so kind and send $5 to the mwad charity fund my paypal address is stiderm@hotmail.com
