I received mine on Monday. Aside from a cracked distributor cap and a broken TPS the motor looks to be in good shape. Andreas is a man of his word and agreed to send replacement parts. I'm not in a huge hurry to get it installed. I'll be sending my ECU to JWT early next week for programming and start the motor swap sometime in the next couple weeks. If all goes well I hope to have it roadworthy by the end of April.

For everyone considering buying something from Andreas, he is very trustworthy and follows up every part of the order process. A true gentleman.

Is the TPS the same as the US SR20DE that you can use
with the ECU (assuming you're using the US ECU?)

I ordered mine a little more than a week after Jim. Mine should be here next week and I'll post as soon as I get it.

I don't think the DE TPS will fit on the VE throttle body. The bolt holes are different and the overall size appears to be bigger.

BTW, the broken distributor cap and TPS were a result of poor handling during the shipping process.

Does it appear that the DE distributor car will fit the VE ??

Not sure. I'm planning on using the VE distributor regardless.

I haven't really done any research on it because my plan is to use a reprogrammed DE ECU.

Unless I run into problems or complications the plan is to use the DE wire harness with some of the connectors from the VE harness spliced in, DE MAF, DE reprogrammed ECU and VE distributor. I won't really know for sure exactly what mix and match components I'll be using until I get the DE motor out and examine the DE harness and wiring diagram that Andreas is going to provide. I have a couple friends that are excellent at working this stuff out so I'm not overly concerned about making it work. I plan to document everything I do for the benefit of others. I'm sure Charles will do the same so we can compare notes. Should make it easy for others when they take the plunge into VE land.

It would be way easier to use the reprogrammed DE ECU, but $800 (Im in Canada so that means $1200+), so hopefully I can use the VE ecu with VE wiring harness.

Also whats the situation with the headers? Has Hotshot made them yet? Andreas are you going to be making those SS ones you talked about?

I found this website that has headers for the SR20VE. The only question I have is will these headers line up with our cats? I know it will be easier to have HS or Andreas make them, but this give everyone an idea. BTW, if you go to Carl's site he says that JUN told him that the best header setup would be 4-2-1.

http://www.impul.co.jp/products/comp...11.primera.htm
Its a 4-2-1 header.

If you want to translate go here and type in the website.

Later!

I have the advantage of already having a JWT ECU so the cost will be around $400 for them to reprogram it for the VE.

I was told HS would have the first prototype completed by the 2002 convention. They plan to showcase it in a customers car that'll be there. I want to be sure someone takes a bunch of pictures for me.

Both Impul and Fujitsubo in Japan make a header for the VE but it's specific to the Primera. I'm certain the primary will bolt right on but unsure wether the secondary will meet the front of the cat on a B13. I suspect not. I was told SR20Dev ordered a Fujitsubo header from Japan to test performance on the VE but these things aren't going to be cheap when you factor in the cost of shipping. Assuming HS is making 4-2-1 configuration, I'd say this may be the best bet unless Andreas can step up and make some that'll bolt right up. I'd prefer to go with Andreas but timing at this point is the critical factor.

Supply and demand at the time of order dictates the total cost. Expect to pay between $2200 and $2600 shipped. Youyr best bet is to ask Andreas how much he wants foir the next VE he gets in.

$2500 shipped to your door is the current going rate for an SR20VE.

Great news. Please let me know how the motor looks. I have yet to take pictures of mine.

BTW, Place Racing has an adapter plate that'll match right up to the VE MAF if you planned on using a CAI. I took measurements and faxed the information to them and they replied telling me they had an exact match. This makes me want to use the VE MAF more than ever. I'll be ordering the adapter tomorrow.

I was all excited on getting started on the installation until I found out JWT is taking 4-5+ weeks wo turnaround an ECU right now. Geez.

You also have to consider that JWT will have a slightly different program for the VE MAF. I wonder if they have flowed it and adjusted the program.

I would love to use the VE MAF with the Place Racing CAI too. How much did they want for this adapter? I might have to order one.
