Andreas said that the N15 platform (which is the SR16VE) should hook right up to the B14, so i think is should be no problem. If i'm wrong somebody please correct me.

I bought my SR20VE from Andreas and he is the one that told me I needed to have my DE ECU reprogrammed even though the motor came with the ECU.

I just want to know why you can't use the VE ECU. I'm guessing that it's because of the auto vs. manual tranny issue. I just want clarification.

all you need to do is get rid of the speed limiter which is just a wire gut away. [/b][/quote]

Andreas, would this be possible with the VE ecu also, or the DE ECU? TIA

everyone is saying this is pretty much a bolt-on install for a B14, but a B13 with a high port head, how much more ifficult would the swap be?

I can see that this post is really old, but just want to give my opinion!

When we did my swap we used my DE wiring harnes and the VE ECU.

The only thing we needed to do was to check out where the solenoids was getting their signal from on the VE ECU! To do that we just looked at the original wiring harness from the VE and then just pulled two new wires from the VE ECU to the solenoids. Because they weren't on my DE wiring harnes.

So no problem at all for us!

Plugs into what?? Obviously it will plug into the engine it came with. I'm assuming there are other connections--- I don't know a ton about this stuff-- is this what you are referring to? I'm getting a 99 engine and have a 92 nissan sentra se-r.

What do you thinK?

He is referring to the original wireing harness. If it plugs in it will work fine. Otherwise you will need the complete VE harness to use the VE ECU. As time goes on and more of these swaps are done we might figure out which cars will take the VE ECU.

The guy I'm buying from says he has wiring diagrams and he has the ve harness as well as a de one. He says he is going to prepare it form me so all I have to do is "plug and play". I'm going to talk to him tonight and ask some more questions.

Hello Guys,

Sorry I have been away for so long, but I have changed my ISP so I have been without internet for 2 weeks!

Lalito> The reason why we used my DE harness instead of the VE harness which of course would have fit the engine is, that all the other connectors to the “boxes” (don’t know the English term) won’t fit. The only thing we had to add was the solenoid activation wires from the ECU and the plugs for the injectors. The rest was just PnP (Plug and Play)

Cool team nissan,

Just bought the engine. It's brand new, just broken in 1999. The guy, John Davis in Hawai, is setting it up with the de harness for me, so I don't have to do all the wiring. He's also sending my a new head for my de (which has a bent valve cause the timing chain lost its timing-- long story).

Anyway, he says he has all the fsms for these engines and stuff so he can do all the wiring and just send it to me pretty much ready to go. Hope it all works out. I'll keep you guys posted. Does anyone know how I can attach my pic of my new engine to these posts???

Also, have a question for you guys-- what the #!@$% is a selonoid??

Would you like to shed some light on this Andreas? I bought my BB ECU from you like 2 months ago and I am just getting my car running (hopefully) this weekend. Thanks
