The Solenoids are the switches that trigger the cams - There is one for each cam on your engine so that they can trigger the intake and the exhaust cam independently from each other! On the new 2002 VE there are only one Solenoid so that both cam's switches at the same time!

The solenoids get their activation signal from the ECU but many VE owners build in a MSD system so that they can move the solenoid activation time to gain HP and tq between 5000-6500

You can read a lot about this in other threads!

All the data, writing etc he has about the VE is that in english!?!?

thanks team nissan

Thanks, got ya

So basically all you need to do is hook up the de harness to the ve ecu + the selonoids. Sounds good. They guy I'm buying from says he is hooking up an adapters to get the de harness to hook up to the ve ecu and engine. Hope it works. He says it will but of course I won't know untill I actually get the thing hooked up.

If it doesn't I'll have to go the way most others here in the US have gone. Either go to jw reprograming or use my de injectors, maf, etc... with my de ecu and an mds.

Hmm, this I would like to see. Since you're local give me a call when you get this adapter harness and let me come check it out.

Ok, I will. The engine is coming from Hawai so it may be a few weeks. Hopefully the dock strike hasn't backed up things too much. I'll know more soon.
