SR20VE w/ 16VE ECU and Cams

I've done some searching, but most people are posting their opinions (which always conflict) and little to no hard data.

My question is if running an SR16VE ecu with SR16VE cams in an SR20VE alleviates the fuel air fuel ratio issues.

on full throttle, the SR16VE ECU runs lean (15:1) up till around 5700rpm, whereupon it dives down and runs too rich (12:1 or richer). This is with 370cc injectors and stock fuel pressure.

I'm looking for someone who's actually done dyno runs with a wideband and can tell me that swapping in SR16 cams will correct this, with necessary fuel pressure adjustment. or what happens if I run an sr16 ecu with 20V cams?

I won't go back to the SR20VE ecu, it's too quirky (idle speed varies from stoplight to stoplight) and too low of a redline. I also boycott JWT though I am looking into a daughterboard solution as well.

if you want a daughter board solution try looking into what calum and or setzer on this forum have avalible, i have a sezter tuned calum ecu in my car now it runs pretty nicely. the one thing that i would look in to is the stock 16 ve ecu might be tuned to run on diffrent fuels than that are available in the states. but other than that if you did it with a sr16ecu harness you could have your stuff all stock like including the vvl activation, but at the stock rpm witch i hear is kinda high to really take advantage of the cams. just a couple thoughts on that, ive got the sr16 cams in an sr20 and it runs really nicely, check out setzer or calum about the daughterboards.

Why 370cc injectors?

because someone on this forum erroneously claimed that they richened the sr16ve ecu enough to run an sr20ve with no problems.

I'm not looking for suggestions, i'm looking for conclusive evidence on whether sr16 cams with an sr16 computer and appropriate fuel pressure runs a stable AFR on a power pull, all the way through the powerband.

I haven't done it but I know that SR16VE cams in SR20VE engine with SR16VE ecu and AFPR and standard SR16VE VVL activation worked ok but best results came with a daughter board on the ecu.

look up a member called "kiwi-japie".

He ran that exact setup with a piggy back etc. But he's car only started runnign really well when he took out the piggyback, and ran the SR16VE ECU with SR16VE cams in his SR20VE with 370cc injectors. The point where your car is running to rich is the VVL switch over point for the intake cam on the SR16VE. I think once you add the SR16VE cams it should be fine as they should give it some more air.

The cam opening on the SR20VE cams you're running now are probably not matched right for the 16VE ECU which is causing the leanness / richness etc.
