you dont adjust the valve lash for the big lobe. you adjust both sides of the rocker arm so that both small lobes are even. the big lobe on the rocker has a hydraulic lash adjustment and oil pressure with spring that keeps the rocker against the big lobe on the cam. this also keeps pressure on the shims on the springs so that they dont fly out.
