Yes they are the same
I just did a test fit with a gtir crank and it spins freely.

Make sure you have your main journals positioned in the correct direction

put in the 16ve crank seat

The 20ve shouldn't fit and you could be destroying the block trying to make it fit!!!

they're called bearing caps, and the 20ve cap won't work with your block. did you bother measuring bearing clearances???

that might be important... seeing as you're trying to use the wrong caps you should probably remeasure!

ok.. got the point

not it not bother measure
it just pliminary stage only
we just try to bolt on everything and see it move or not only

so any SR16VE bearing cap from other SR16VE block will fit on it ?

Thank

No
bearing caps are specific to the block they came in

hence telling him to measure the bearing clearances....

even if you are just putting everything together to see if it fits, you still need to measure the bearing clearances and install bearings... unless you want to wreck both the crank and the block.

don't people bother to search anymore???????

mean if the crank is tight i need to use smaller clearance

mean change the main bearing to thinner
mean higher grade ?

Here is a much more polite answer

you need to find the journals that came with the block. If you don't you are going to spend a lot of time and money trying to get this to work and your motor could still potentially fail

here is what is wrong with your block right now, regardless of the crank and clearance:

you have forced journals into a block that were never supposed to fit together. The metal around the journal shoulders and the main webbing is now warped. Especially if you torqued the journals down to specs. You need to inspect your block carefully for sharp edges and metal shavings. you also need to look for any grooves the incorrect journals could have cut into the block.

Only after that can you start to worry about clearances. if you messed up your block the clearances won't mean a damn because as the motor is spinning the journals aren't seated properly.

That BLOCK is specific to only 1 set of Journals. Nothing else equals and nothing else is a substitute. your only mission right now is to find the original journals

i was just going to suggest this if the original caps are totally gone.
just a line bore and then some undersized bearings.
