PS banjo fitting seal?

Sigh. Simple one: Shaved the locating pin to move the banjo fitting out of the way of the oil filter on the VE going into the B13; now (not even running) actually LEAKS (yes, torqued to 55 ft lb) - haven't taken it apart yet; are there some sort of sealing washers on the banjo fitting or do I get to replace the hose with it's fitting?

There are copper sealing washers that are supposed to be on either side of the banjo fitting. I hope you didn't lose them. You can find them at some hardware stores, and the dealership.

*on either side* - That's the key right there. It's very easy to loose the one on the top and not notice it.

Thx guys - nope, didn't lose 'em - only rotated the fitting a few degrees; that's all it took. Yup, dealership has new washers. I'M CLOSE, GUYS - but won't be able to work on it for the next few weekends, but I'd guess I'll have 'er down on the ground in a few more after that. SOMETIMES I wish I weren't so compulsive about details!

Well, hopefully the new washers will cure the leak. Did you take it apart to do the grinding? If so, perhaps there's a little schmutz on one of the washers.

Thx Chris- nope, tried to get away with leaving it on the car - just took a dremel imitation and sliced off one side of the locator pin while it was in place, THEN broke it loose to rotate it. Oh well. Picked up a pair of new washers last nite; we'll see.
