Intake solinoid clicks, but nothing?

95 G20/HS CAI/JWT ECU/15*/stock exhuast.

So i hooked up my MSS and the first couple of times i didn't set it right and turned on my intake VVL by accident during idle, the result made my car die instantly because it ran too rich. So now i have everything hooked up properly and both solinoids click when they are being activated. But my intake VVL does not seem to be at 100%. Now when i set the intake to kick in while it idles, the solinoid clicks, but my car doesn't die like it did before. Not even a rough idle! The solinoid just clicks when engaged.

I hear my intake vvl engage when i drive just slightly, but my exhaust is more noticable. THe thing is, why would my car not die like it did before when i engaged VVL at idle? Seems like my Intake VVL is working half ass.....

Mines did when i first was "learning" to set the MSS and engaged it by accident.

Could it possibly just be the stock VE manifold/downpipe im using? Im using a stock exhaust with a stock mani. Possible because the stock mani resticts the flow so it makes it seem that the intake cam seem more subtle than what it really is?

You also need enough oil pressure at idle to activate VVL for the car to die.

Problem solved! Apparently it was the fuses that didn't seem to work out for my solinoids too well. I hooked the solinoids to the mini fusebox (10a) that was with my MSS to the battery. I took all that junk off and hooked it up directly now everything works fine. Thanks Luis!
