wheelspin????

is it only my car or does anybody else's car with a ve spin the tires when the cams switch? Mines does it while it running in 1st gear i floor it then at 4800 when the vvl kicks in my tires loose traction n spin.when i got the car it had some cheap ass tires on it but i then got some michelin pilots on some lightweight wheels ..with better results. But it's winter and i put my stock rims back on *** new yokohama avids with the same wheelspin. anybody else experience this??

Wow, I tend to baby third. Even though I'm not making enough power to shatter it, it still lingers in my mind. Sometimes I even skip third and go straight to fourth during regular driving

Just get a b14 tranny, I don't think you would like the longer gears with your VE but that's JMHO.

It's quite a bit of work, if you have the money than go for it. If you are talking about the specv gearstack, I have heard alot of bad things about the specv's trannys. I don't know if the newer ones are fixed or not.

na forget the spec v.
it all depends on price and reliability.
in other words something without gears popping out that can handle my future mods...hmmm like a VE-T in which i might have in the works soon.

the michelins are alright ...its the other tires on the stock wheels that spin. The reason i need stock rims and all season tires is that i live in the northeast and i drive my car year round.

194 my arse. maybe 194bhp.

ugh, it's my pet peave. I disregard any dyno data that isn't printed and from a mustang dyno.

anyway wheelspin in 1st is typical. i'd be worried if it didn't. the fact that it happens right when the vvl kicks in suggests that you're not tuned right, and actually making less power than you should. a properly tuned engine will be smooth(er), with no dramatic increase in torque when the cams kick. It means you're making less power than you should before they kick.
