Another VE dyno

Well I took my SR20VE to the dyno last week. I put down what I pretty much expected without a good tune, 165whp with 132wtq. My mods are pretty simple for now: WAI, Fuji header, 3" mandrel exhaust with no cat or muffler, VE MAF, SR16Ve ECU, 370cc injectors, and an MSS for cams set at 4800 for both. I did not tune at all, just did a base line and looked at the a/f's. As expected, I was really really lean below 5700, and rich above it. Here is the graph.

Here are the a/f's for that run.

Now I have an AFC, so hopefully I will be able to richen it up where I need to and lean it out up top. Anyone think I could make another 15-20whp with a good tune? The best part of the session was seeing the lady running the dyno jump five feet in the air the first time vvl kicked in. She thought my engine blew and she went for cover.

You definatly need some tuning, you're running wrong injectors for that ecu.

Hmmm...why do you say that? All I have read on here is that these injectors are needed because that ecu runs so lean down low. I definitely felt a difference when I put them in. I am going to tune with the AFC soon so I will see then I guess. I still have the stock 333's in case I need them.

With the S-AFC you will be able to tune in the 370's.

Sine you have not messed with the AFC the reason why the car is lacking power is because of the 370's. Tune the car or have it tuned and you will get more power!

Isnt the SR16 ecu programmed for the 333s? I figure it would run too rich if you use the 370s.

You are half right. It is programmed for the 333's, but it runs ultra lean on the 20VE until about 5700 where the 16VE vvl engages. Then it goes to rich. When I first put the ecu on the car I probably lost about 10-15whp below 5700, then the power kicks in hard because the ecu richens up. After putting the 370's in, I felt a noticable increase in power through the powerband, but you can see that it is still really lean. Hopefully I will be able to tune it and make the power delivery a little smoother. Right now it feels like a Honda vtec the way it is flat until 5700 then kicks in hard. I want it to be like it was on the 20VE ecu, smooth all the way to redline.
