Local VE powered SE-R puts down some POWA!!!

Well yesterday we took my friend Gio's SE-R to the dyno for a tuning session. The car hands down impressed us all and it put down some very unexpected numbers.

The car has the following mods:

SR20VE
SR20VE 20 V Pistons with SR20VE rods (11.1 compression)
SR16 cams
Jun Ultralight flywheel
JWT Cam Gears
Stillen header ports matched a bit to fit the head
3" exhaust
Pep Boys filter on VE rubber intake arm
OEM Chipped ECU
S-AFC
Walboro 255L fuel pump with OEM FPR

The first pull right off the back the car only put down 160 whp at 132 ft tq

We then started messing around with it and we ended up with this

199.47 WHP at 153.80 ft tq

Here is a $$$$$ shot

And a few shots of the car

I really do feel we could have made more power with the car. A few more pulls and we could have gotten the car over 200whp but, we ran out of time. Our appointment was only for a hour and we had to take the car off the dyno because of another appointment. So in a few weeks with a few more changes we will go back to get that 200+whp

As for how the car runs. It is flat out amazing. It so hard to believe that the car is NA. Hands down it is a wicked ride. If you punch 1st gear from a roll there is no traction until the very top of 2nd gear and then comes a monster chirp into 3rd gear. In a NA car just does not feel right

Hands down

Mario the computer was done here local. Pretty much the timing curve was programed to be more agressive and the rev limiter was eliminated. All I will say is the VE's love timing

He just had the car painted 2 weeks ago and he added the CF hood. He should be getting his wheels very soon.

As for the HG it is a cometic. The motor use to be on boost with DET internals. He finally saw the light and went NA.

That is the first thing that I thought. I always see folks using "Fujitsubo" etc....

Possibly more power with a different/better (port matched) header?

Awesome numbers.

We know for a fact the header is killing it. He is saving up to buy a Fuji or to have one custom made.

Pretty much. When the OEM computer was chipped the fuel map was not touched at all. All that was done was what I stated above. Timing and elimnation of the rev cut. All fuel was tuned off the OEM settings and the S-AFC.

I really do wish we had a little more dyno time. I know we could have made more power.

bro, that SUPER NICE. But i still have a question. What was it that you did exactly during your "fine-tuning" process to net an additional 39hp/20tq?? Was it really all in the SAFCII??
