I am thinking of getting an sr16ve. I know that you can turn it into an sr20ve, but I am thinking of driving it as is for about a year. During this time I would do things like the exhaust, intake, etc. Maybe by the end of a year JWT will have finished a more reasonably priced stroker kit for the sr20 that will also fit. I am concerned about the lack of torque of the sr16ve vs. sr20de but have no dyno charts to compare. BTW I have a N1 tranny on the way so I have the tranny designed for the sr16ve.
Throw the 16VE in. You will definitely be unique and still very, very fast. When people see you run and ask you "That's an SR20, right?" you can say "Nope. A 1.6"
Then later of course you can stick a 11:1 2.0 bottom end in...
