Swap almost done: crank angle sensor code.

Hey all. I got my car sitting outside with conzult and ecu talk all plugged in. First off I want to thank Calum for doing an OUTSTANDING job on my ECU. He installed a daughterboard + consult interface, and this thing is making EVERYTHING so much easier. Thank you SO much Calum.

Anyhow. I am getting a crank angle sensor code as shown by conzult and ecu talk.

Last night the car ran, idled at 1300 RPM and slowly came down to about 1000 RPM. I was out of the car and all of a sudden it died. This was before I had the intake manifold grounds hooked up because I am an idiot. After that the CEL would turn on whenever the fuel pump engaged, which would make a nice whirring sound (no fuel). Automatically I believe that it dies because of no fuel. I put gas in, and the fuel pump sounds happy and the CEL goes away! fu*ked up, I know, but also kinda sweet.

Anyhow. Car will just crank (battery is fu*king JUICED for sitting in a garage for 2 months. 12.47v) but not catch.

I had an Air Flow Meter (MAF) code, but then I hooked up the intake manifold grounds and it went away. Now I just have a crank angle sensor code.

So uh yeah. I'm gonna go hook up the tranny ground ChrisCar just brought to my attention and try again. How about that crank angle sensor code, though?

Oh yeah, 0.8v with teh engine off for the MAF. That's okay?

The crank angle sensor should not effect engine operation at all. The old Fidanza flywheels could not even be read by the sensor at all.

Wait:

Is this your NX you are talking about? I thought B13s didn't have crank angle sensors?

My crank angle sensor went bad a few weeks ago. The pins were bad, so I'd get intermittent 'no start' conditions. I grabbed one off of another engine and its worked fine since. I'm assuming your on a B13 distro.

First just for reference; The crank angle sensor is the gear in back of the distro. The wire goes under the distro body and a connector on front goes to the harness next to the 02 sensor.

Second; Try wiggling the CAS from both ends (with the ignition switch on) and see if you hear relays clicking and fuel moving. If you can then try wiggling it while someone cranks the car.
