Franklin stage 3's go in friday

Franklin stage 3's go in friday. Not changing anything but the cams and springs so you should have a good idea what kind of gains they give as a drop in mod. I posted the before dyno already. I'll post the after dyno when i get it, hopefully next week after break in.

dyno'd at 172whp and 139wtq (uncorrected) before the install. I will repeat at the same dyno in the same conditions (since the weather is always the same in hawaii). Calum ECU will be used but i will not be tuning at first. I have to wait a few weeks for that, this will be a baseline to see what the cams give as a drop in modification.

Sweet What did the F-cams and valve springs cost? How long did it take to get to you? I'm planning to run this setup on my next VE.

Wow, 411 views already... someone must be interested in this! Anyways, i just got my car back from the shop. Dyno time is scheduled for next saturday after the break in period. My first impressions:

Power dips slightly at my cam switch point of 4500rpm and doesnt build again until almost 6000rpm. Honestly, at 6k it feels like a turbo just kicked in. So i am gonna probably need a higher rpm pill. 5500rpm at least.

After 6k it is noticeably STRONGER than the old motor. First gear is useless in the big cam and second gear will break loose on certain roads. I didnt take it past 7500 because I was scared, i dont want to go nuts until the break in is over. But power was still building at 7500! Of course all of this is just hearsay until i get some real numbers on the dyno. But the butt dyno says it makes a LOT more power up top. And dont even get me started on the sound... fu*king beautiful. that is one thing the turbo guys will never have on us!!

So anyway, saturday I will baseline dyno. Just dropped in the cams and springs. Nothng else changed. So you guys should have a good idea of what these do as a drop in mod. Tuning will come later.

I went for a ride in sr20sleeper's car today, and lemme say this thing just PULLS from 5000+ RPM's and up. He didn't wind it up to redline (what was it, 8500 rpm?), but sh*t, this thing just keeps on pulling harder and harder as the rpm climbs. Absolutely amazing feeling, nothing like my S3/T25, that sh*t just drops off up top

I would move your switch point up. With SR16 cams, I have my points at 5100 and 5500. With them below 5000, I had the same power drip, and the car felt slower with just daily driving.
