Getting a 97-01 190 HP SR20VE motor is easy.

Getting a 02-03 204 HP 20V is very difficult. Your chances are next to nill

ive been in contact with a wrecker in japan, trying to find an R34 6-speed tranny.

and he sent me a list of his prices, he sells the pre-01 SR20VE for 200,000yen, and the 01+ for 250,000. thats for engine, tranny, ecu, wiring. its an extra 100,000yen if you want the whole front clip.

im awaiting a reply to see if he has any 01+ in stock.

if theyre as rare as you say, maybe ill import a few (pending availibility)

So pre-01 = 1,754.69

01+ = 2,193.37

Thought I'd share it.

Wait.. if it only has one solenoid that means you cant switch over the came indepentantly.. other then it being 20V wouldnt that make it a worse motor?

It is the case, both cams on the 20V switch at the same time....I guess Nissan decided that it wasn't necessary.

Why would they think that when its dyno proven that it gets more power switching them seperately? Even on the Silvia motors they had just the intake switch because of turbo, they knew changing just one is different then both even on them.

^ ^ ^ Perhaps the re-designed 20V didn't warrant seperate changeover points. Nissan did it for a reason, what that is I don't know.

Anyway, fact is, both cams switch at the same time, and the engine is better than the previous SR20VE.....whatever the reason, Nissan got it right.
