Ok this is bugging the hell out of me. Everytime I get close to the end of the 1/4 mile I'm near the top of 3rd gear. If I shift to 4th I lose some time, leave it in 3rd and my time is a little better. http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread....15#post1568115 I'm running the B15 trans. Some feed back plz what size rims are you running? I'm on a 15" BFG drag radial. I'd like to be mid way into 4th crossing the line. Then again I'm racing at a higher elevation dont know if thats effecting me much either.
I think the elevation is playing a big role. My car was good for 14.7@93.8 with my mediocre driving. I had to go to 4th. This track is ~150ft above sea level.
I left it in 3rd one time and waited for the line, and ended up losing ~.2 and 2mph against a very similar run. With a decent 60' like you had holding third might be the best route.
195/50/15 street tires. Stock B13 gearbox.

Not a lot of choices for us in changing ratios. Halibrand doesn't make stuff for us. If you're still running your stock 14" 60 series tires, you might try to let the online tire calculators help you decide if going to a small wide tire (like a wide 40 series on the 14" rim) might change the overall ratio enough to get revs up. Suggest you put your question in the drag racing forum OR, more likely safer, start searching posts in that section - likely you'll find the answers you need.

If you don't have the patience
to do it right the first time,
how is it you have the time to
do it over and over again?
you could get an sr16 tranny. that might help. How high is the elevation there? it seems like your traps are really low considering your dyno numbers and mods. I get well into 4th in the quarter with I/H/E on a stock sr20ve with a b13 tranny.
It's about 2700 feet above sea level out there. I'm on the B15 trans and running 15" rims with 205/55 BFG's. I guess I'll find out this weekend. Our once a month good track is open this weekend lol. This one isn't so high.
i might be runnin this weekend too??haha sike not really..im getting a tranny tomorrow(i hope) but im not ready just yet to go and do it...hey but can u give me that number to the place u got ur b15..im lookin for a p11 in the future thanks

I have a B15 trans as well. I know what you are dealing with. the Gear ratio's are very short. Try running some slightly taller or shorter tires like 205/50R15 or 195/50r15's. those should let you go through the gears faster allowing you to get into 4th gear faster
