220hp VVL Motor For Sale Soon.

This motor is a SR16VE motor. It will get a 86mm 4 counterweight crank from a 2001 SE motor. The compression will be 11.3 to 1, the pistons that I am using is a secret and the pistons will be coated with Swain Tech Coatings. I will be putting SR20DE rods in it with ARP bolts in them. The motor will retain the SR16VE cams and make top HP at 7,800 RPMs which I guestamate to be around 220-225 crank HP. The motor will get brand new rod bearings and crank main bearings. The price I will give you also includes my labor charge for building the motor. This motor will run 13.3-13.5 in a ungutted SE-R I guestamate top speed to be about 155-160 MPH. This motor might be quicker than stated depending on what you put on the motor as far as high perfomance mods go.

I am asking $3,300 for this motor shipped to your door if you live from the middle of the country to the East coast. My email address is Moppel_det@hotmail.com

Thats just the regular motor. If you want the 2.2L VVL motor it will cost another $2,500 added on to the $3,300. The total will be $5,800 for that motor. I think this motor will make about 245-250 crank HP. This motor will run 12 sec timeslips with a ungutted SE-R.

Yes this motor will be fine with 92 octane fuel. I would not sell it for street use if I was not sure of this.

Which crank are you using to increase the stroke? I thought the JUN and Toda stroker kits I've seen on the market use the older style crank. I assume you're also doing an over bore... probably to 87mm. Either way, $2500 seems more than reasonable considering the JUN and Toda stroker kits retail for $5k.

what would the torque be like? I would be hesitant if the torque was... well... honda-ish!

Check out the torque of the VE in the Dyno thread of this forum. It's got 20-25ftlbs on a RSX type S everywhere.

The VE that was dyno'ed was a SR20VE, my question pertains to the monster SR16VE that Andreas was putting together.

I would probably go with a SR20VE vs. the SR16VE due to torque.

That would be the sh*t having a VE motor in my 98 (which would be a sleeper) and pulling up to an RSX Type S. he would probably be thinking, what's this 140 hp car up to... Smoke him!!!

The first post describes Andreas turning the sr16ve into a sr20ve in addition to the slightly higher compression and the better cams that are standard in the sr16ve. I doubt you would lose any/much low end torque with the sr16ve cams because the variable lift. So if you look at the previosly mentioned dyno chart you could probably safely add about 20+hp above the 5K rpm range. Just a guess.
Would be even better in my 98 then yours because it would be mine. HaHaHa

Oh... Ok... I was thinking SR16VE as 1.6 litres, not stroking it... Thanks for smacking some sense into me!

Andreas,
If/when you sell it, could you build another for a similar price, or is this a one-time deal?

Thanks,
Ben
