ITB's for VE

Theres a guy selling ITB's in the according topic, and i was just wonderin what would be the benifit... if any. Even if there wasnt gains, it would still sounds spectacular right? Would be pretty rare lol. Ive heard good gains coming out of hondas and ITB's... so i was just wonderin if it would be worth it in a performance sense. THANKS

(oh and ive been searching all day, and havent found really much on it at least not for a VE)

Not many VEs out there with ITBs, but I'd imagine you'd get some gains, definatly better response. But you'd need to get yourself a standalone unless you build a plenum around the ITBs like the GTiR.

You would prob have to go standalone unless you made a plenum for the ITB's. It will give you better throttle response but I hear it's a pain because each TB has to be tuned right.... Or was that with carbs? lol.

You need a standalone to bypass the maf, and run a map sensor. I think you can do that with an AEM ems. It would be the easiest one to deal with.

You'll need to ditch the jwt. the AEM EMS will let you use your stock harness, a lot less work that with all the other standalones. But yeah, you won't be able to use the ITBs with your jwt.

ok, thats what i was thinking... that make sme feel better. All these nights reading sh*t and i figured id retain at least some of it...

So, ill look into it, but i wonder about gains. Has anyone ever ITB'd their ve?

Plus i can prolly sell my JWT ecu to somone over at g20.net, since its a p10 ecu. That will help with costs.

For daily driver nope.It would not do much without alot of work and aftermarket cams.

this engine WILL evetually be in a track car... I am trying to get a rolling b13 se-r to gut... and cams and springs will be done. Im sure ill pull the engine apart and have it cleaned up like new. With all of this im sure itll be a beast.

But for now i can build the engine up while its in the g..... then drop it in the b13. May even go XE.

That is an OEM 20VE Intake Manifold Hacked and they threw away the rest just to use the runners...very bright idea mhmmm

I don't recommend the seller of those ITB's...

he made a pretty bad deal to a friend this guy is a joke...

and to contribute something good to this thread...you can do an Intake off of a gasket no need to hack a good VE IM.....its easier to do just the runners plus a flange for the ITB's than an Intake Manifold.

this can be done custom very easy...and you can source some street bike ITB's for not so much $$$.

I got a set of Tomei ITB's on my SR22VE engine. There are significant gains in throttle response and 4x 48mm TB's are the equivalent of a single 96mm throttle body

Yes, they need to be tuned for the correct manifold vacuum across all four. It is a pain but easy enough to do with the correct gauge.

You could use you JWT ECU, if you enclose the ram tubes in a plenum and feed the plenum via your MAF.

How about this to the fire. 4TB 4 restrictions. 1 Tb 1 restriction. I would actually do flat slide from a Bike. Get some of a busa or something. Wide open throttle you can see right to the valve no obstruction.
