I m kinda new to this forum, and I hope that u guys here can help me with a problem that I have.
Currently, I have a sr16ve N1 & tranny in my sentra XE, the problem I have is my air-fuel mixture runs lean between 5000rpm to 6300rpm on WOT. I am using the original ecu from the half cut i bought. Also, the solenoid that activates the 2nd stage isn't working too. I am using the Apexi RSM to activate it at the moment. i am hoping that I can get advice on diagnosing these problems that i have & solve it, as I have yet to experience the full potential of the 200hp from this engine.
Hope to hear from any of the members soon. Thanks in advance
Just so everyone know he lives out of country so he has the complete front clip installed in his sentra. Including the oem ecu that came with the original car.

Been thinking about your problem. Let me ask you a couple questions.
1 How do you know it is running lean in that RPM range and only that RPM range.
2 Is the Apex item working to control you 2nd stage?

Are you sure? I've been able to pull the problem codes from stock ECUs before including, most recently, a friend's Altima. No special tools needed... just a small screwdriver. Check out this link: http://www.se-r.net/engine/ecu_codes.html
1) I have a Apexi NA/Turbo timer that doubles up as a air fuel ratio gauge & I have also dynoed the car.
2) Yes the Apxi RSM is used to control the 2nd stage
3) Unfortunately, the stock ECU does not provide any way of checking the problem codes

When they dynoed the car did they use a wide band o2 sensor? Unless the Apex hooks up to a separate, very expensive, O2 sensor it is not going to be that accurate. Having never lived in Malaysia I don't know what kind of computers Nissan uses over there. I am now assuming that yours doesn't have OBD 1 or 2 so pulling codes is not an option. If the Apex RSM is successfully controlling the 2nd stage then I would test for continuity between the cam solenoid and the ECU using an ohmmeter. Maybe something was damaged along the way. Isn't 5000rpm when the second stage kicks in? If so is it possible that the computer is not providing extra fuel because it is not activating the second stage. By the way your English is excellent, is English a second language for you? Were in Malaysia do you live?

I would suspect something with the ApexI RSM is leaning it out at cam switchover. Also, does the RSM switch over the cams the same way the factory ecu does? As in 1 then the other aproxamitly 200rpms later. I have a feeling it is the cam switchover point.
