Gather around everyone VE pic time *Update*

Yes come close and take a look at my head It seems I bent 1 valve so far that I know of. I was sick last week and one of those days (Saturday night) I went out to get some food since nobody wanted to get close to me to help me while I was sick lol. Well long story short car droped 2 cylinders while I was driving. Been sick and a few miles from home I went to a friends house on my way home and did a compression check . We thought the gauge was broke because #4 got zero, and #3 got Zero. Then we tried #1 and #2 and they were good. Well here is what happened.

This is #4 intake, exhaust looked fine.

I spy with my eye the shim caught in between the rocker and retainer!!!!

Now on to #3

Bent!!!!! intake valve. I just found this Saturday night because I was feeling good enough to do a little work on the car. Since no VE valve replacement has been found in another SR20 I'm going to take the head of my SR16VE and swap it onto my SR20. Before that *** I'm going to change the springs and retainers out with the franklin cams and order there N1 copy cam while I'm at it. should have bought a Civic and did the K20 swap lol. Ahh well Rev limiter was set to 7800 with the SR16VE cams. When I'm done I guess I won't have to worry about this crap anymore. I hate it when I should have done something at 1st but didn't There goes some of my RB20 manifold funds. I'll fix the this head with some of the parts from SR16 head cept for the valves then save this head for I don't know what. Live and learn

************************************************** ***************
UPDATE
Well I was very right it was the screw that bent the valve! sob.

And then I saw this on #4???

Looks like something was trying to get out and finally did.

How did you bend the valves dude? For the sake of our own amusement... Have a look at your throttlebody and see if there's still two screws in there :S
That looks extremely familiar to the sight I saw when I had a valve jammed open by a throttlebody screw

Well the motor only had 1 in there when I installed it. I took one from my DE and put some lock tite on it. If you look at #3 the valve is sitting lower than the others. Either way the head has to come off. 1 more week and I'll be better health to do the work. How long dose it take Franklin to crank out cams?

The valve clearance issue, If it wasn't for that I prob would go with the Stage4's. I'm also loosing focus on my other project the more I play with the car. So N1 cams are good enough, it will put my past my goal of 190hp lol.

what happened exactly?

do you have pics of the inside of your intake manifold/ Tbody?

also if that shim was like that originally could you have hooked one valve on the other at high rpm?

Went to get food late night, merged on the fwy kept driving lost 2 cylinders. Stoped by my friends place and did a comp test found 2 dead. Went back home pissed and sick and the car sat for a week till saturday night where I felt good enough to pull the valve cover and see what was going on . The car sounded find after I merged on the fwy nothing to make me say "hmmm that dosen't sound right".

That's weird how you just "lost" 2 cylinders.. What was your redline set to ? Not saying you bounced off the rev limit, just curious.

Rev limiter was set to 7800 with the SR16VE cams. I did hit the limiter, but everything sounded fine. It didn't happen after I merged on the fwy, in fact this sh*t never happens when I'm at WOT, It happened as I was going down the fwy at 65-70mph in 5th gear. I'm just waiting on Franklin at this point.

That is pretty random. Sounds like your springs might have failed.. Which doesn't really make sense. I guess you'll know when you take the head apart.

Did you find someone parting out a VE head for the extra valves or did you buy new ones?

Are you talking about the two screws that face towards the intake piping right on the center of the butterfly?

Nissan shoulda riveted that thing or something. sheesh.
