Shave the Head?

I just wanted to know if any of you have shaved the head to raise the compression? Would you guys recommend it?

why do that when you could just get pistons and raise the comprestion.... when you shave the head you have to check the piston valve clearences.... same with pistons but somebody already did that if you buy them off the shelf

i agree with ^. shaving the head does serve a purpose but at the same time it throws alot of things off. timing of the cams and valve to piston clearance.

i would recommend getting higher compression pistons with deeper valve notches then oem (incase u ever get bigger cams).

its doable but there are better ways to raise compression then shaving the head.

hope ive helped.

Yeah I know. I just wanted to know if anyone did it. I thought that the n1 head was just a regular ve head with a 1mm shaved off of it. I wanted to know if people duplicated this or not.

It has been done, on a SR20VE engine with stock pistons, yes. F/cams stage 4 & cam gears.
