N1 air intake

Hey, ok just a quick question for some of the ve experts. What will work better a induction kit with a cold air feed, or a standard airbox with a hks panel filter . The car is a N1 the only other mods are a de-cat and nismo exhaust.

A std 20ve intake will work best. I'll hook you up with one then you give me your N1 intake mani :-)

just kidding bro. Cold Air Induction will work much better than the std stuff with a panel filter.

Doesn't your car have a vacuum operated butterfly on the intake?

You iamhappy46 agreed with the top 2 guys that there is a vacum operated butterfly on the intake manifold a then decided to tell everyone what it was for.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now since I have never see the part you guys are talking about can one of you please take a pic of it and post the pic on this link. The reason why I say so is becasue I have never seen such a thing on a N1 intake manifoild. Now since you guys have seen this part and have confirmed please post it.

I am 100% sure this part you guys are speaking about is not on the N1 motor or the function of what it does described by ( iamhappy46 ) is completly off.

And you Andreas said that you never............,no lets not go there.I don't have an N1 motor only normal vz-r so i don't have pics, the part we are talking about is not part of the manifold it is down near the headlight where the intake pipe begins! Im fairly sure i've seen it on all the N1 motors i have seen.

Never said it was on the inlet manifold, as this thread is about an intake pipe... I can understand the confusion though.

It restricts air flow to increase low rpm torque and therefore driveability. Basically, a small diameter intake pipe when you need it yet opens up when an intake restriction is not wanted.

Thanks for your explanation as it seemed you were talking about something up by the TB or intake manifold.

That picture doesnt show the offending item it is in the bottom right corner to the right of the battery and below the round thing.

That picture does show the solenoid that operates the butterfly attached to the strut tower.

I have a couple of pictures but im not bothered with picture hosting so if someone wants them email me.
