help... on starter... im a newbie

hello all

im a newbe to the sr20 world. i just got a sr20ve motor but needs a starter. will the stock de starter work for the car. i will appericate if u help me. thank you.

Ayup - just use the one you had on the de motor. There actually are a few pieces you need to use - one of them being the alternator mount, if I remember correctly. DO look through the VVL tech section - at length and carefully. You'll no doubt have questions beyond that, as long as you've done your homework there (and I'll bet that one wasn't answered!), we'll all bend over backwards to take you through this.
As I remember, somebody asked what the difference was. Stock flywheel de hp is 140. Whp for a reasonable ve is 180-200, depending on what you did. Last time I did the rule of thumb conversion, 180 wheel is about 230 flywheel. I haven't dynoed mine, just did what Dre said to do; regardless of what it might do on a dyno, it sure is right spunky. If you pay attention to detail, you're gonna love it.

kool thx guys. i have a p11 that i just got with a ve motor with no starter so im tryin to find a starter for the car now. thnks
