Ya Jim, that is the car. But it may or may not be me that you met. I've on ly worked on the team for a year and a half. You probably met my buddy Glenn or the the owner of our car Bob.

Originally posted by bigtom i just finished a new program with JWT for the street. it should be finalized after a week of driving. it is much better than the previous ve program.
Thanks for the info. Were you running the JWT ECU before with your VE? I know you started with the DE ECU/MF/INJ. How long did you have the previos JWT ECU on your car. Were your problems similiar to others we heard?
Interested to know why you didn't just slap a turbo on your car instead? Don't get me wrong, VE's are awesome, but since it's relatively new there will always be some problems.
BTW Jim, I saw your car at Carlisle. Very very nice. A bunch of us were drooling over it and then Eric Rosen came over and looked suspicious like we were trying to steal something.

I rode in Ray's turbo at Carlisle and I must say it's *very* fun and impressive. Ultimately I'd like to have both but until I win the lottery I prefer to run the VE. Problems and issues are part of the swap process. It can be frustrating but the learning process makes it worthwhile. Fortunately it's not a daily driver so down time isn't an issue.

Thanks. It's been fun working on it albeit frustrating at times. When it's finally dialed in it should be a fun car at the track.

Tom, what is it that makes this new program much better than the previous program. Is this new program used in conjunction with the VE injectors and VE MAF?
Originally posted by Shoes59 I spoke with Yoshio tonight and he said he can program a stock ECU to run a VE motor but dyno tuning is required for each application. The cost is in line with what JWT charges for an S3 program, the dyno time is extra. His chips or boards are different than JWT's so he cannot utilize the JWT unit, he must start from scratch with a stock ECU. Soon as I get my ECU back I'll pop it in, schedule an appointment and head up to Tornoto for a test and dyno tune with his ECU. I'll post results afterwards.
so if he can reprogram the stock ecu, does it mean we 98+ ecu can be tuned to remove rev limiter, raise redline and other stuff without swapping in the 95-97 ECU and rewire stuff?
