I plan posting some pictures along with links to my website once I get a chance but things have been really hectic for me lately. Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on my site this weekend.

BTW, my VE was installed on April 11th!

But the bad news...

Jim Schumacher and I have each been having some tuning issues so until I get mine worked out I haven't exactly been flamboyant about throwing my pics up.

Also I believe my motor may have spun a bearing. I plan on dropping the oil pan this weekend and taking a closer look.

ouch, im sorry to hear the bad news. i still encourage you to take pics. the reason is ecause someone like myself likes to use pictures as refrences. if i hadnt seen about 200 sr20 picture swaps i would of never done the swapp myself. and i didnt use a FSM (that why my car sat for 4 months after the swap hehe) MUST USE FSM....anyway take pics! and im sorry about the spun bearing and tuning issues. i hate tuning issues cause they are so annoyingt, fix it then something else happens ahhhh hate that.

Do you get any MIL lights? How does the car respond with this ECU? Any type of hesitation? Also, have you done any special tuning to the car? TIA

I haven't played around with the engine much at all, probably because of lack of information and parts.

The ECU works fine the only thing is the rev limiter is to 7200rpm and I think it is meant to be more than that?

The best is when it kicks in at 6000 rpm, she goes off!

There are 3 stages and I know it also kicks in about 4000 rpm, not sure when the other stage is ???

Are you saying the intake kicks in at 4k rpms and the exhaust at 6k rpms? Is this the default setting on the VE ECU?

You've been somewhat vague with your information. Are you willing to provide more detail about your set up? We'd really like to hear more about it as you seem to have the only swap utilizing the VE ECU.

nah they tried to make everything as factory as possible. As it is so rare and they have never worked on this engine they didn't stuff around with it.

Although as it only revs to 7200rpm i think that there is something wrong - does anyone know what the rev limit is meant to be set at?

I'm pretty sure the factory set it to 7200. Really not much sense in having it much higher as the power starts to drop off above that anyway.

IMHO that is not 100% true. The factory uses 7200rpm because that is the power peak. It also uses a CVT that can just set the engine at the power peak and vary the gear ratio to accelerate the car. With a true 5 speed you usually rev slightly past the power peak before shifting. Not a lot but 300-500 is not uncommon.
