there was an article in scc on april 2001 , about the evil egg. it was an SR20VE with an fmax kit programmed by JWT that ran a 13.5 @104 with an auto tranny on pump gas and street tires. dynoed at 240 on 92 octane. its possible, but im sure very expensive.

Those times are pretty uminpressive for what its worth, a det is very capable of those times with minimal mods. On the other hand a VE swap is also capable of those times with minimal mods as well

Well the sr20ve came with a CVT, which has shift points that vary infinitely, or a six speed sport shift mode, which I'm sure give the car excellent response with minimal powertrain loss

the guys name as i recall is Carl Monopoly. he has a website about his car with a lot of information and i think hes on here somewhere too. if i run across the website i will post it. the numbers are unimpressive. i think shoes can run the same time with a simple cam swap.
i am running 12.8 in a ve with a cam swap. yeah so my cars a little light. but ran a 13.8 stock trim. the time carl made was a function of too much topend overlap in the cams. the new vet doesnt use vvl on the exhaust side at all. maybe carl would do better to just unplug the solenoid.
Haha, kinda funny cause I go on the guys website like everyday... http://www.gonzonx.com/
He's got a Level 10 built transmission, and is supposed to have VET cams in the engine now
Originally posted by CNibbana Since when does he have the VET cams? He mentions on his website that he is interested in installing them, but I don't see where he actually did it.
I'm not sure either, thats why I said supposed to have... I wanna see a dyno after the cam installed and I wanna see if he deactivates VVL on the exhaust cam
the vet valvetrain doent have the rocker arm assy. in the head for the high profile. it also has no solenoid to activate it. it does however have a high profile but it doesnt get used. depending on the profile of the low lobe it might be cheaper and just as effective to purchase and install only the vet intake cam. might be even cheaper to have the duration ground out of the stock sr20ve cams.
