What year car are you swapping the motor into? This is important to know because the harnesses, wiring and ECU's differ from the Classics to the 95+

I have no idea on a shop in NYC. The closest guy might be Jason Garrett Young. He is on the forum also. Here is his web site. There are probably only 20 or so of these engines in the country right now. Not a lot of shops have even seen this engine. Have you red the sticky FAQ at the top? Are you trying to swap over the VE harness into your car? What year car do you have?

I have a 98 Sentra SE (same ecu and harness). Andreas told me that the best/easist/foolproof way to go is to disconect the oem DE sensors from the original DE. Leave them conected to the harness. Pull the old engine/drop in new engine. Put old sensors on new engine. Whatever is left over you don't need. Two others on this forum have done this swap. I am about a month away from doing it. I am sure Chuck and Jim (Shoes59) will chime in.

My VE was swapped into a 94 and it's a bit more invloved. The coil and ignitor are external from the distributor on pre 95 cars so wiring is a bit more complicated. Instead of putting DE sensors on the VE motor I elected to swap a few connectors from the VE harness to replace those on the DE harness that didn't match up.

I have a 98 SER too. Do we have to use a 95-97 ecu and do some rewiring because 98+ is different?

I bought a 95 ECU and had JWT reprogram it. You could just get a G20 ECU and run the de injectors and MAF. I think that the JWT program will be better in the long run. As far as rewiring I will know when I get my engine. The JWT instructions for this are hard to read (mine were faxed) but they don't look to hard. I am not sure if the VE even has the wires that need to be switched. The rear O2 sensor was replaced with a resistor for free at JWT.
