The sr16ve swap would be no less complicated than an sr20ve or an sr20de swap. The sr16 uses the same block as an sr20. The engine will fit, just as it does in an se-r. There is probably a lot to do though with wiring and such.
Point is, the sr16ve is NOT an easier swap for the GA16 just because it happens to be 1.6 liters.
