Are there different types of SR20VE's?

Hi Guys,

I'm interested in buying a SR20VE and am wondering if there are different types of VE's? like how there are different types of SR20DET's.

Or is there just 1?

Are there HP differences? Also when was the earliest they were introduced?

cool thanks
T.

There are 5 VE motors.

SR16VE 175 HP 5 speed Manual 97-2001
SR16VE 200 HP 5 speed Manual 97-98 N1
SR20VE 190 HP CVT 6 speed Auto 97-2001 not so sure
SR20VE 204 HP 6 speed Manual 2001-
SR20VET 280 HP AWD Drive 2002-

Most of these figures and years are correct might be off somewhere did not look at my Nissan Maual when doing this.

The second SR16VE that Andreas mentions is the SR16VE N1 version that is so hard to find because only 400 or so were made. Lets not dream about that one to much.

So for the actual SR20VE there are 2 types?

SR20VE 190 HP CVT 6 speed Auto 97-2001 not so sure
SR20VE 204 HP 6 speed Manual 2001-

What does CVT stand for and is that tiptronic? And are there any identifing marks/numbers to tell the 2 engines appart, assuming the tranny has been disconnected?

I'm Looking to put on into the 92 Nissan Pulsar N14 SSS (Sunny) will both these engines bolt straight upto the existing transmission?

Cheers
Dave

SR20V(E) SR20VE

The 204 hp SR20V(E) looks totally different than the 190 hp SR20VE.

SR20V(E) has a black valve cover with spark plug cover and it says in red writting (NEO VVL) and has an actual nissan emblem on the valve cover.

CVT is continuously variable transmission. Its an automatic that finds the best gear ratio depending on engine load and speed, to give the best gas milage as well as power and response. It can also go into a "triptronic" mode to allow the driver 6 set gear ratios to shift. Honda Civic HX from 96-20 has this transmission in it to produce 115hp and gets about 45-55 mpg

Would the all wheel drive SR20VET engine be compatible with the fwd 200sx with some modification.. and if so, what would it take?

No one knows because it hasn't been done. I would imagine the engine bolts right up to our transmission though. Good luck finding one.

It's sort of a dream/fantasy.. but it would only happen after I graduate, get a job, and pay back my student loans..sooooooo hopefully someone will find out before me.. and by then maybe there will be an even better engine to put in.. who know

HELP!! B12 SR20VE SWAP...

HI there!!!

i have a b12 4 door sentra andplanning to swap a sr20de, but learning about the sr20ve changed my plans for my car. so i have a lot questions since i'm unfamiliar on how to drop a sr20ve in a b12.

your expert answers will help me a lot in my project...

my friend is an importer of surplus parts from japan and i told him to find me a nissan primera that have the sr20ve.

my questions are...
do you think i could get a front clip of a nissan primera??

do you think i could get a sr20ve 6 speed manual???

can i swap the sr20de 5 speed tranny???will it bolt right in???

if i got the sr20ve tiptronic automatic, can i use its ecu??? or it is different from the manual ecu???

is the sr20de and the sr20ve have the same bracket designs for the engine support???

how complicated would it be to drop a sr20ve in a b12??

does the sr20de driveshafts fit into the b12 disc brakes?? or do they need modification???

does anyone have a wiring diagram for the sr20ve??? if you have one and ur kind enough, pls notify me or email it to me..

does the sr20ve and sr20de have the same maintenance parts like the oil filter, fuel filter, gaskets, distributor etc...???

i need your help guys!!!

thanks...

my questions are...
do you think i could get a front clip of a nissan primera?? yes, but why do you need the whole clip. a paulsar vzr clip would be better

do you think i could get a sr20ve 6 speed manual??? yess but its expensive

can i swap the sr20de 5 speed tranny???will it bolt right in??? to the engine yes, but you have to fab your b12

if i got the sr20ve tiptronic automatic, can i use its ecu??? or it is different from the manual ecu??? you can use it, it didnt come in a manual version. you will have a MIL(check light) all the time i think.

is the sr20de and the sr20ve have the same bracket designs for the engine support??? yes

how complicated would it be to drop a sr20ve in a b12?? you have to weld in new mounts to the frame, use se-r axles, use sr20 tranny, lower the car 2 inches so the axles dont bind.

does the sr20de driveshafts fit into the b12 disc brakes?? or do they need modification??? they fit

does anyone have a wiring diagram for the sr20ve??? if you have one and ur kind enough, pls notify me or email it to me.. i have them if you do this swap i can help you out then

does the sr20ve and sr20de have the same maintenance parts like the oil filter, fuel filter, gaskets, distributor etc...??? uses 95+ oil filter, most all gaskets are different, has different distributor.

re: help! b12 sr20ve swap

yes, but why do you need the whole clip. a paulsar vzr clip would be better

COZ *** U G THE FRONT CUT OF THE CAR, TH HARNESSES R UNCUT, SO THEY THE REWIRING IS NOT SO DIFICULT... A PULSAR VZR CLIP?? WHY IS IT BETTER?

do you think i could get a sr20ve 6 speed manual??? yess but its expensive

ITS EXPENSIV COZ ITS NEW?? HOW MUCH DO I GET THE SR20VE AUTOMATIC?? HOW MUCH DO I GET D VZR CLIP

to the engine yes, but you have to fab your b12

WHA DO U MEAN? FABRICATE THE SUPORT FOR THE TRANY?

IS'NT IT THE MNUAL ECU TUNED BETTER 4 MANUAL THAN THE TIPTRONIC? OR THEYR D SAME?

MY CAR IS ALREADY LOWERED, AND IT WILL BE COZ THE SR20 IS HEAVY..HEHEHE. MY FRIEND, HES A MECHANIC AND HE DOES ALL D SWAPS AND TUNING ON OUR CARS. HE SAID THAT INSTEAD OF MOVING THE ENGINE SUPORTS, ITS BETTER TO FABRICATE NEW BRACKETS 4 THE ENGINE TO FIT THE ENGINE SUPORTS. HE SAID MOVING THE FACTORY SUPORTS IS IMPROPER. DO YOU AGREE??

does anyone have a wiring diagram for the sr20ve??? if you have one and ur kind enough, pls notify me or email it to me.. i have them if you do this swap i can help you out then

YES I WILL DEFINITELY DO THE SWAP, SO AS THERE **** B MORE FAST NISSANS ON THE STRIP N STREET...(TYPE R'S BETTER WTCH OUT!) BUT THAT ALSO DEPENDS ON MY FRIEND IF HE CAN GET ME ONE.

ABOUT THE WIRING DIAGRAM I WILL NOTIFY YOU WHEN I NED IT IN THE FUTURE...

uses 95+ oil filter, most all gaskets are different, has different distributor.

HOW DO U THINK HOW CAN I GET THOSE PARTS FROM HRE IN PHILIPPINES? FROM JAPAN ALSO?? WE DONT HAVE SE-R'S HERE... WE ONLY HAVE THE ALTIMA THAT HAS THE HIGH PORT SR20DE...

WHAT CAR DO U HAVE? DO HAVE THE VE? IF YES WHATS ITS 1/4 MILE TIME???

HEY TOM THANKS FOR THE INFO!!! U WILL BE A REALLY BIG HELP...OUR FRIEND MECHANIC WILL BE HAPPY TO FIND OUT THAT DROPING THE SR IS NOT THAT COMPLICATED AND THE AXLES FIT THE B12 BRAKES. TNX!!!

it is silly to try to use the japanese harnes in a us car. rewiring your current harness is easier.

yes i agree wd you but wiring guys here in the philippines prefer uncut harnesses beacuse they are easy to trace and rewire if u dont hav the wiring diagram.. on my side, beacuse its easier, the labor is much more cheaper like 30%...: )

why is the pulsar vzr clip better?? does it have the sr20 or the sr16??

unfortunately we dont have SE-Rs here in the philippines.
what tranny should i get from japan??? the primera sr20de tranny??? is it cable type??

what axles should i get??? the primera sr20de axles??? do they fit in the b12 disc brakes???

WHAT CAR DO U HAVE? DO HAVE THE VE? IF YES WHATS ITS 1/4 MILE TIME???
