Now this is a rear VTEC style motor

This motor is on par with the SR20VE, it comes with a Titanium header. I wonder what front wheel drive Toyota you could stick this into. Maybe one of those first FWD Corolas. or one of the new gen corrolas with the nice body kits

200 PS 3SGE

We had a MR2 with a worked one of those on the dyno the same day that EVLNXR and I were there, it was the second most powerful NA engine of the day at 129wkw.

The second most powerful NA engine

Pretty sure that motor is used in our locally delivered ZZ123 Toyota Corrolla Sportivo with 143Kw@flywheel stock from a 1.8L

Edit: Nevermind, I just realised that is the 154Kw 3SGE Beams 2L motor, as used in the RS200 Altezza.

3SGE motor is from the mid 80's to late 90's Celica but also used in the SW20 MR2.

The 3SGTE was in the GT4 Celica rally car and also the MR2 turbo's.

The 4AGE 1.6L 20 valve Toyota's had a series 1 and 2, both using quad throttle bodies. The blacktop 20 valve motor made 123Kw and the silver top made 119Kw. There was also the 4AGZE screw supercharger 1.6L motor. Popluar to fit these 4A engines to early model MR2's and Haichi Roku's(AE86's)

Would not mind seeing the RS200 3SGE Beams motor in a Hachi Roku...

A guy in Orlando that we used to hang out with stuffed a 3S-GTE into his hachiroku, does that count?

hahahaha

He used the Altezza 3S bellhousing and tranny I think, but made custom mounts and such for the motor. Had a decent sized snail on there. Think he put down like 350hp or something to the wheels, on a gutted AE86 w/ roll cage and full suspension and CCW wheels. Car was hot.

also, not to knock you miko, but after looking at the title of this thread i should also say that its diff then vtec, it has adjustable timming on both the intake and exhaust, but not lift. simmilar to vtc but on both the intake and exhaust sides....

Hachi-Roku is just Japanese for "86"

Hachi-Go for "85" Levins

It's like saying "Ess-Ichi-San" for S13

you are correct. there is no VVL or VTEC like action. its a VVT-i motor which is just "intelligent variable valve timing" VVTL-i is the one like vtec.

I think only the 2ZZ got the VVTL-i action. One of my friends had a 01 Celica GTS that had all sorts of TRD goodies in it, and we were driving around in his car and he kept hitting "VTEC" so to speak, it was a blast.

VTEC doesn't just mean variable valve lift anymore guys.

case in point.

Did you see that V8 TT GT40? awesome right?

yeah, that was so vtec.

Honda=
VTEC = variable timing (only)

iVTEC = variable timing and duration (lift)

Nissan=
NeoVVL = variable timing and duration

Toyota=
VVTL = Variable timing

VVTLi = Variable timing and duration

am I right on this?

Add the Nissan NEO which is variable valve timing to that as well.

VTEC has variable valve timing and lift
i-VTEC is intellegent VTEC. It alters camshaft timing while having variable valve timing and lift as well.
