just thought i see if this happend to anyone else who installed a ve in the b15. OK installed the harness it started, but it was in limp mode, we had it running with out the ingnition check installed, and we tryed it with it installed No diff still in limp mode. also calum used a vq (e60) maf which i needed to get, i think that would solve my problem, but just wondering has anyone run in to this problem before a calum ecu and harness adapter. also what have you all done to hide the adapter i was think a fuse box around it. so for know just went back to the Vsafc and Factory ecu
If you don't have the right maf for the program you'll automatically go into limp mode. My plug came off my maf once and caused it to run like ass aka limp mode.
The VE was swapped in a few months ago. Since then it has been running the B15 ECU, with an SAFC to compensate for the injectors. It ran fine, but the rev limit is just too low.
He purchased a B14 Calumsult ECU along with a B15>B14 harness adaptor. Last night we installed the new ECU with the harness adaptor and it ran only in limp mode. Calum does not have the ability to program for a B15 MAF, so it is programmed for a VQ MAF. I think this may be the problem, but I am not 100% sure.

See, I have run several incorrect MAF/ECU programs for a very brief period of time, and they run poorly, but not in limp mode, however my experiences are with the OBD 1 setup. The OBD II may be more picky.
We advised Rob to find an N60 MAF and try that. Even if that does not solve the problem, when we do figure it out, the tuning will be much closer.
Has anybody else run this ECU and adaptor in this application? What are you running your B15 with Erich?

Its not set for an N60 maf, its set for an E60/61 maf. Thats a 95-9x maxima VQ maf. The pathfinder/VE maf will also work. Do not use an N60!
Sorry for the confusion.
Pull the codes and find out why its in limp mode. Check and make sure the ecu is actually seeing correct signals (maf voltage, etc).

I am going next week (wed) to get a maf E60 or E61 from the junk yard and i am going to need to find a wiring diagram so i can properly connect it. does anyone have one they can send to me. With that i will install it and then see if that takes me out of limp mode. I hope it does. Thanks for all the help everyone and for FastNx for all his and his brothers help. Hope the race car goes good.

the only thing that is different (from all other cars) is that red wire... most nissans have 12v, ground and signal which is from 0-5volts the red wire is constant 5v.
Mike (p10det) was sayign something about some other built in sensor in the maf
Okay, question for you. I'm using a Z32 MAF. The 2 middle wires are ground wires, and there's a 12V and a 0-5V wire on the Z32. So, the B15 Red wire should go to the Z32 12V wire and the B15 White wire should go to the Z32 0-5V wire, but then what happens with the B15 Black wire?
