motor combo

i know that toyotas and hondas guys do it all the time. can i put a 2.4 block with a 2.0 head

There is no matching 2L motor with a 2.4L bottom end.


As far as SR goes there are SR16, SR18 and SR20

The 2.4 motoryou are thinking of is the KA24

then there is the QR25

These are all diffrent motors that have nothing in comon, well they were all made by Nissan.

You want a bigger SR20 motor you have to build it.

Cheapest 2.2L is about $2000 to build a bottom end.


The bigest you can go would be around 2.4-2.5L and that can cost well into the $4500-$5000 range

if you've gotta block, you can always go with an overbore on the cylinders too.... But if it were ME, I'd just shave a bit off the head, raise the compression a bit and leave it at that. The SR20 is a legend for a reason. I think if they needed a way to make it more powerful thru stroking, Nissan woulda done it. But that might just be me. I hope you find your solution though.
