quick compression question

i calculated the following ratios using this calculator here: http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

i put in the data for a stock det bottom end with a ve head, just by changing the headgasket thickness i came up with these ratios(approx):

1.6mm headgasket: 9.0:1
2.0mm headgasket: 8.7:1

is this correct? if not, what should it be?, and also peoples thoughts on running such thick headgaskets on a ve+t setup

The larger the headgasket the lower the compression.

1.2mm hasket is about 8.8 to 1

If you had a 6 mm gasket the compression would be very very low.

Factory DET headgasket is around 1.6mm depending on gasket crush.

The SR20VET runs 9.1:1 compression from the factory but for more boost, I would be going for the 2.0mm gasket.

sorry to bring up an old thread chaps.

ive been searching on what head gasket to use for my 54C block with 20VE head rebuild.

it will have forged JE 87mm 8.5:1 pistons, obviously the 20VE head with 20VE cams, going to be getting the head skimmed a little just to be on the safe side, this will raise compression a little so im unsure whether to get a 1.2mm cosmetic or a 2.0mm gasket.

anyone have any suggestions please?
thanks

I thought the smaller head gasket raises the compression.
