confused... extremely rich

well the other night i was driving everything was great, car was running awesome like always and i pulled into a parking lot and shut it off......

then like an hour later when i go to start it, it wont stay running, its running super rich, fuel comming out the exhuast...

so then today after work i went back there w my multi meter and checked the maf voltage, which read .03-.6v it would be one of the two, then the other next time i checked it again. this was with key on engine off. (n60 maf by the way, with a calum ecu.) i was under the impression that if it were close to but under 1v it was correct. the car still doesnt run w the maf unpluged.

when i wasnt sure that was the issue, i pulled the fuel rail and turned key on to see if the injectors were leaking, and nope. not at all. so for some reason there getting some crazy signal, if not the maf it must be the ecu.

now i have also tested another b13 ecu and its not any better....any suggestions?

Check the consult coolant temp sensor output temperature. Sounds like it is stuck in 'cold start' enrichment mode.

Is the ECU totally seated in the harness? I had one injector fail because the ecu wasn't seated. It wouldn't fire, and made the other 3 cylinders run pig rich.

I've seen a B13 with a bad ecu that kept an injector grounded which dumped fuel into the cylinder. It actually had fuel leaking out from the header and exhaust. It eventually hydrolocked, bending a rod.

If you have seen the stock cold start program, it is attrocious. If your getting anywhere around water freezing temp reading from the coolant temp sensor(if it has internally failed or wire has come loose) then it can inject a LOT of fuel.

what are the readings you should get for the coolant temp sensor?
