I can see that these cams have stirred up some interest so thought it may be an idea to start a new thread rather than have the N1 manifold thread & the Franklin Stage 4 dyno thread go off topic.
For those who don't know yet, Andreas announced that JWT is about to release VE cams & Charles has advised that BC are also developing them.
My thoughts are that it's always good to have new products / more choices so - Yay!
Then I remember that it's taken over a year to get the Franklin's dynoed and unless somebody steps up or JWT offers a free set, no numbers will be seen for a while so - Booo!
To summarise:
New cams: Yay
Possibility of no figures & lotsa arguing: Booo.
Clint! I think that you guys in NZ had to make a dyno yourselves and sell s4 cams all over the world, make money and develop new. If you had money to send them, you must had oportunity to make a dyno in NZ... So, you didn't want to make money on them, now other people develop other, similar or equal ... and make money. S4 cams are not so cheap as stock to buy a set of them and a set of springs and retainers to make a test. NZ is also far from US and Europe. For guys in US it is easier to buy from "boasting" (not trying to tell they are liars) JWT and BC or original Nissan, and will definetly do it, because they are good sellers.
If Adrian spent a lot of money and time in R&D, maybe he should spend little more into a marketing.

JWT will offer up 3 sets of these cams for testing. One in house by them.
I will bet that Mike K will get one 100%
and just maybe someone else.
Also before anyone blames anyone for not testing Franklin cams just know you guys could have tested them also and thrown out a before and after dyno
I know you guys have N1s and also Franklin S4s.
Even you had a few set backs when Dynoing these cams. So lets just not blame us .
I don't want that whole Franklin thing to start up again, the testing is getting done & that's the main thing.
It's not about blame, getting figures on the Franklins turned out to be a nightmare for all of us & it would be nice if the whole saga wasn't played out again with the JWT cams.
Yes but you put the blame on me for it. When even yoy guys could not put up a solid dyno chart comparison. Even saying I was trying to have cams made off of them and further saying you hope it is not me trying to make cams with BC.

Granted a few of the NZ fellas had some pretty strong words to say about the Franks not getting done & the way the company has been treated. I felt that some of the comments personally directed at you last week by the Kiwis were pretty rough & unwarranted but so were some of the comments directed at us. We gotta drop it or the whole stupid saga will start up all over again.
You & Charles are very good friends from the looks of things & appear to work together & share a lot of info. Something most people don't know is that I gave Charles some very detailed specs on the stage 4s so that he could get the best power from them.
Whether those specs are shared or not, I would not be comfortable with them being in the hands of somebody who was working closely with a major company like BC on a competing product. That is the reason that I made the comment that I hope it isn't either of you working with BC on their new cams.
I honestly think in some situations, the Franklin's will come out on top and in others, the JWT cams. This is purely speculation but as someone pointed out earlier, the Franklins work well with higher compression (we've found that they really shine when run with some SR16VE pistons and a bit of head work), while as the JWT might work really well with a different configuration. On top of that though, you have bolt in figures, and then you have tuned figures. So it really is going to be interesting to see who comes out the overall winner.

Well today is the day most waited on.I hope to see some good results on these Franklin cams.As for JWT they also make some badass cams but any cams over 290 duration I personaly think it will require higher compression than stock to get the best results out of them.Thats off the experience I had with Honda engines with cams with alot of duration.

JWT in house testing is done with other peoples cars. Mike will definitely be testing a set and hopefully I will too. But once again we're looking at possibly another month before we know anything. JWT takes ALOT of time making sure things are right, spot on. The first sets will be tested and degreeing will be determined so when they are installed there will be no need for cam gears.
