VE running like crap. high idle, runs rough with tps plugged in...

Hey guys, i just put a new head on my buddies 20ve.

the head was done by big tom, so im sure its right. he did a valve job, ported it, re-shimmed it, and just did an over all douching of it. the car ran fine with the old head, until it was over reved and it bent a valve. the ONLY thing changed was the head. we kept the sr16 cams, and the same intake manifold.
the car runs off of an sr16ve ecu

with the tps unplugged it runs great, just idles at like 1500 rpm with the iacv all the way in. i checked for vac leaks with my boost leak tester, and i found 2 little ones. fixed those, and no change.
i adjusted the tps to .48V closed.
when the tps is plugged in, the motor starts running really really rough, the intake sounds like it starts sucking harder, and it seems like its going to die.

i was told the sr16ve ecu didnt like usdm o2 sensors, so i unplugged that as well, and still no change.

also when trying to hit VVL, it was like hitting a brick wall. the motor didnt want to rev any higher. it was just spitting and popping.

i have NO idea what the hell is going on with this car. im goign to try to readjust the tps again, but its raining right now, and im tired of working in the rain for the day. ..

thanks for any help guys!

would having a cam off a tooth do this???

the chain slipped at the crank when the head was off awhile back, so tis been a crap shoot getting it lined up again, but i followed JWT's site to get it lined back up. i even marked the chain, and put the cams back in the same spot on the chain. i tried to keep as much tension on it as i could when the head was off
