Hey VE guys, CEL question

I am interested in installing an SR20VE motor in my G20. My G20 is OBDII. The only thing stopping me on this install is my fear of having a CEL. This car HAS to pass emissions in MA.

I know i can use a resistor for the EGR temp.

Are you OBDII guys running this motor with the CEL off? Anything i'm forgetting here?

Dave

You're forgetting that you're putting a VE in a G20. That just can't be fun, keep it stock.

just follow the instructions here on the forum and you'll be fine. instead of running a resistor on mine, i ran a modified EGR (VE and DE hybrid) and ran the vacuum lines the way the VE had them and also ran the charcoal canister. (I bought a front clip).

Nice. I'll be using a b14 tranny, so it should work out.

If you are OBD2.

You can just plug in the

EGR selenoid in the harness
EGR sensor in the harness
These 2 just need a resistance reading.

Make sure TPS is set between 48-55
make sure the rear O2 sensor is in the cat.

No CEL will come on

I put a resistor in the EGR temp sensor, and redid the vacuum lines on the EGR solenoid. No check engine lights for me. Enjoy the swap.

Or you can just get Calum's ECU and delete the EGR and/or rear O2.
