Cam switch wiring question...

When using a VE ECU the cam switches are wired direct in to the ECU and activated by it at pre-set RPM. However, if I activate the cam switches by other means, such as an MMS, do I need still have them connected to the ECU or do I wire them straight into the activator...?

you wire them right to the mss and the common wire to 12v+
