I know everyone says 2.25 for a DE. I have done some research and the Greddy for the DE is actually 2 3/8's. A lot of the new exhausts coming out for the RSX Type S are 2.5. It just seems that 2.5 inches would be the best size for a custom exhaust on a VE given it similarity to the RSX Type S engine. What do you all think?
i would say 2-3/8 to the cat. for sure. the rest depends on how much top vs bottom you want. i have been running a 2.5 with a 3in resonator. with the resonator fins its about 2.5 id. seems to work ok. it is straight and exits through the gas tank area to the rear of the car. i still get more power when its unbolted at the dp. i dynod with the exhaust but ran the 12.8 with out it. if you are running a full exhaust 2.5 ffrom the cat back is fine. the more it breaths sooner the better top end will be. you could check with a honda shop and see what they are doing for b18 and b20. 2-3/8 may very well be good for a road course car, that could use more midrange. hope all that rambling makes sense.
I was actually looking at some b16 exhaust sizes. (due to the fact that i wanna swap a sr16ve) most of the pipe sizes are 2 1/4. Should I use a 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust piping for the sr16ve. I am thinking 2.5 is kinda over kill for a 1.6. Just wanna hear your opinion.
