best VE water pump?

Yes I know this has been asked before but no one realy said what was the best w/p.

I've heard that the late model b15 DE water pumps are better than the older ones because they have curved fins and sr16 water pumps are good because they have shorter fins.

Mine just went out on the freeway today and I need a new one asap.
The car is a DD and is sometimes autocrossed and drag raced and I live in the super heated state of AZ to top it off.

Dang I'd just read that water pump thread a few times and call greg v to see what he has in stock. Do you have an NX radiator? I got mine for $60 bucks from a part-finder.

That suxx man you just swapped it over recently right?

No it has a stock se-r radiator. Yes I just swaped it in two months ago. The engine looks like new inside and out. I do'nt think it got to hot though, I did'nt feel a loss in power and the needle did'nt get to the first line before the "H", but it was almost there. I shut it off and coasted. Then a cop car pushed me out of the way. lol

Is the nx radiator as good as a thick Koyo tig welded radiator? I'd have to save up for one of those if it is better wich it probably is.

I'd just call Gregg and ask him. Then Grab a cheap NX rad, a bottle of water wetter and call it good.

I used a B15 water pump on my VE. Almost 3 years later still no issues. Upgraded to a 2 row radiator, replaced water pump, heater and radiator hoses. The NX radiator is a good option, get a good used one. 00-01 RR water pump is what I picked. Call up Greg V, he may be able to get you the pump you need.

Yeah that's what I ended up getting. The 01' water pump is almost an exact copy of the sr20ve water pump, it has six curved fins and they are within .015" from the old one in diameter and fin width.

It looks like I'll be back on two wheels for a while. I'm so po'd I just found a large crack under the fill cap in my radiator. I'll have to save my pennies to buy a koyo.

At least you found the crack. Nothing worse than getting everything else taken care of and losing your motor because you didn't check the smallest details.
